Can I Switch Lawyers if I am Unhappy?

Tapalian Law

By David Tapalian September 30th 2015

We get this question a lot and the answer is you most certainly can. Have us review your case prior to changing lawyers. Sometimes it doesn’t make sense to change lawyers and if we think that we will tell you. There is no fee to review your case. If it is an accident injury case in RI or Mass, then the former attorney will still have to be paid for his or her time on your case. Always insist that any new lawyer that takes your injury/accident case pays the prior attorney out of his or her fee. That is, your fee should NEVER be more than 33% of the settlement or judgment; regardless of two attorneys. At Tapalian Law we always pay your previous lawyer from our fee and not from your money. You should never have to pay two lawyers’ fees in an accident case in Rhode Island and Massachusetts! Also you will never have to see or contact the old attorney again; we handle all of that for you. We make switching lawyers a very easy and stress free process. Give us a call today for a free consultation.
